Set up an AS2 connection

  • Admin

Set up an AS2 connection when a trading partner sends its orders as EDI messages (EDIFACT ORDERS) instead of e-mail: the partner's system sends each order over AS2 to Hyperfox, Hyperfox translates it into an order in To validate, and sends an EDIFACT APERAK back when you validate or reject the order. The AI does not read EDI orders: the partner's EDI mapping translates every message the same way. To also send the dispatch advices and invoices of your ERP to the partner, set up this connection first and then follow Send DESADV and INVOIC files.

Create the AS2 channel

  1. Go to Admin settings > Channels.
  2. Under Add a channel, click AS2.
  3. In Label, enter a name, for example "EDI".
  4. Switch Auto approve on if EDI orders that pass every check should be validated and sent to your ERP at once, without an operator.
  5. Leave EDI Outbound empty. You only need it to send DESADV and INVOIC files.
  6. Click Create channel.

Hyperfox processes incoming orders as soon as the partner's connection is Active, whether the channel shows Active or Paused. The switch only starts and stops the pickup of DESADV and INVOIC files.

Invite your trading partner

  1. Go to Admin settings > EDI.
  2. Click Add Partner.
  3. Fill in Name and Email of the person who sets up the partner's side.
  4. Click Save, the partner shows Invited. Hyperfox e-mails the partner an invitation, with a link that stays valid for 30 days.

Your partner sets up their side

Your partner enters their AS2 details and certificates and uploads their EDI specifications for ORDERS and APERAK in the Hyperfox partner portal, without a Hyperfox account. Send your partner Set up your AS2 connection for the steps. Hyperfox builds the partner's EDI mappings from those specifications.

Follow the connection

In EDI, the Status column shows where each partner is: Invited, Setup, Provisioning, Active or Provisioning Failed.

  • A partner shows Setup once they signed in to the portal, Provisioning once they submitted their setup, and Active once Hyperfox has set up the connection.
  • When a partner stays Invited or Setup, click Reinvite (paper plane) in its row. Hyperfox sends the invitation again, valid for another 30 days.
  • When a partner shows Provisioning Failed, click Details (eye) in its row and read Provisioning Error. Ask the partner to correct their setup in the portal, or click Reprovision (arrows) to try again.
  • Details also shows the partner's AS2 Identifier, its Configuration, the expiry dates of its Certificates and a Timeline of the setup.

Check the EDI mappings

Hyperfox translates every message of a partner with that partner's EDI mappings. For each message type the partner uploaded a specification for, Hyperfox generates a mapping and makes it active.

  1. In EDI, click Manage mappings (list) in the row of the partner.
  2. Check that an Active mapping exists with Document type ORDERS. Without it, Hyperfox cannot read the partner's orders.
  3. Check that an Active mapping exists with Document type APERAK. Without it, Hyperfox sends no APERAK when you validate or reject an order.

If a mapping is missing or translates a field wrongly, you can edit the mapping or contact Hyperfox support at [email protected] and name the partner.
